Welcome to Connecticut State Council

Dear HR Community,

As we move into the new year and look ahead to the months ahead, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible community we have here in Connecticut. With over 19,500 HR professionals and 6 active SHRM affiliate chapters, it's clear that our state is a hub for leadership, innovation, and collaboration within the HR field.

One of the most impactful ways we can continue to foster growth and development in our profession is through volunteering and mentorship. Our 6 chapters offer a vital platform for sharing knowledge, nurturing new talent, and advancing the future of HR leadership.

As we approach March, I encourage all members of our community to consider how they can get involved in mentorship opportunities—whether as mentors, mentees, or supporters of the initiatives that promote these meaningful relationships. This is an excellent time to reflect on the value of both personal and professional growth through mentoring in the HR world.

Let's continue to strengthen our network, share our experiences, and support each other as we pave the way for the next generation of HR professionals.

Take a moment to visit our 6 chapters—we have something for everyone:

  • The Human Resource Leadership Association of Eastern CT
  • The Human Resource Association of Central CT
  • Northwest CT Human Resources Association
  • SHRM Western CT
  • Southern CT SHRM
  • Staffing Management Association of Southern New England

Thank you for your time and for all the great work you continue to do to enhance the HR community.

Warm regards,
Nancy C. Tarascio-Latour
Director
