A recent article in Forbes Magazine described the annual performance review as ‘a unique workplace evil that must be destroyed like a blood sucking vampire’… WOW. It’s not that bad. Or is it?? Performance reviews have long been a key battleground between HR and managers in many organizations. As part of the annual compensation review process, measuring an employee’s performance is an essential component of the overall picture as we promote, cross train, reskill and sometimes exit staff from our companies.

In this heavily participatory workshop, we will explore our natural pre-dispositions and preferences, and how they impact the entire employment process. Even if we are consciously committed to fairness and equality and deliberately work to behave without prejudice, we may still possess preferences of which we are unaware.  Join us on a journey of self-discovery and gain insights to bring back to your management team. Why are we attracted to some people and not to others? How can we work around our natural pre-dispositions and become more committed to being aware of their impact?

Due to the social justice movement in 2020, there has been a heightened focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The audience will hear from a diverse slate of panelists as they reflect on last year, and the key trends in corporate DEI to pay attention to in 2021. General Framework:
